A Vietnamese immigrant, Til Lowery has risen like a phoenix, to fulfill the American dream. From humble beginnings escaping communist Viet Nam and getting lost at sea for 17 days, to beginning a new life in America peeling shrimp as a teenager, Til rose from the ashes to become one of the nations most successful and inspirational female leaders.
Til attended St. Petersburg college and from there, moved to Texas to become an assistant leasing manager at an apartment complex in Houston. She saw the opportunity ahead and immediately got her real estate license to put her skills to the test. After learning the ins and outs of real estate and flipping over a hundred properties, she experienced a family tragedy that changed the course of her life.
A few years later, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to volunteer to help with her family’s start up. She quickly rose to become Vice President of what became the largest manufacturer of dry cleaning supplies in the country. Tragically, a number of issues and familial disputes created the perfect storm that led her to advance her career elsewhere.
Now, happily married and mother of two fabulous children that have spread their wings and left her nest, Til has returned to the center stage in real estate more powerful than ever. Using everything she’s learned over nearly 3 decades, Til has devised powerful strategies that create win-win situations for all parties in real estate. On an early morning before dawn, Til’s father plotted their escape from Viet Nam using the family’s fishing boat with nothing but some food and the clothes on their back. A storm swept them away in the night and shortly afterward, they ran out of gas. Stranded at sea for 17 days, they were found by a Chinese cruise vessel that later rescued them. There, Til worked in a refugee camp in Hong Kong for 2 years
Til and her family were sponsored by their American relatives to the U.S. She attended public school, not even knowing how to speak English. To help get their family on their feet again, Til took on a side job, peeling shrimp. Each time, she would come home with blistered and bloody hands. In 1985, she moved on to attend St. Petersburg High School. She went to University of Florida and University of Houston for college.
She became a leasing agent in Houston where she saw the opportunity to get her real estate license and practice. Before even putting her skills to the test, she learned how to have a property sold before she even bought it. She flipped 30 condos in one year and went on to advance her career in real estate.
By 1999, Til was living in Florida again with her husband and two children when her family invited her to come back to Houston and help them build their manufacturing company. Her heart for the family convinced her to give up the comfortable life in Florida and move to Texas. She poured her heart and soul into the company and ambitiously rose to the top.
As vice president, Til led the way for Navisa Inc. to acquire an entire new manufacturing facility in Brenham, TX that would triple the sales volume of the business to gross over a million dollars a month. A couple years later, fundamental issues and familial disputes created the perfect storm for Til to move on to the next chapter in her life.
In 2007, Til and her nuclear family decided it was time for a change and relocated to Katy. There, she spent the next few years buying/selling land as well as commercial properties, while raising her kids and preparing them for college.
Til’s son graduated from high school and moved out to college. Knowing that a few short years later her daughter would follow the same path, Til began shaping the next few years of her life as an empty nester. Since, she has returned to center stage in the real estate industry stronger than ever before. From being featured on radio talk shows to speaking to audiences of several hundred, Til has committed to using her lifetime of knowledge to advance the lives of others by creating win-win scenarios for all parties involved.
